The Ski Association of Slovenia held its General Assembly on 24th January 2014 at the Congress Centre in Mons. The key item on the agenda at the assembly was the election of a new President for the association.

With all  but five of the 294 votes, the assembly elected interim President Mr. Enzo Smrekar to the highest position within the Slovenian Ski Association. He will serve a four-year term with his first major event after being elected the upcoming Olympics Winter Games in Sochi.

"I'm happy that the ski association and the clubs confirmed my candidacy with such a large majority. This is both a great honour and a big responsibility," Smrekar said after the vote.

After taking over as interim President in October 2013, he said his first task would be to ensure the best possible conditions for Slovenian competitors in the upcoming season.
