The Norwegian Ski Federation has elected eight moguls athletes to compete in the FIS World Cup Moguls Opening in Ruka, Finland in December.

Four men and four ladies have been elected to represent Norway in the traditional opening in Finland. This year the focus on moguls is organized as a team model by Kari Traa Skilag. This is formalized through a partnership between Kari Traa Skilag, the Norwegian Ski Federation and Voss Freestyle Club. This autumn, the country's best moguls riders, have gathered in a month in Australia, and two weeks in the Swiss Valais amongst other things. Coming up next is a week long gathering on Folgefonna (Norway). "I was really pleased with what we managed to accomplish last year. So far, I'm very impressed with what I've seen from the season preparation this year" David Kantermo, head coach, said.

Tevje Lie Andersen got a remarkable seventh place in a World Cup race last season. This winter, the goal for the Voss Freestyle Club athlete is to establish himself amongst the Worlds moguls elite. Vinjar Slåtten has been on the similar level as Tevje in the season preparation, which gives the Norwegian Ski Federation a hope of having two Norwegians in the World Cups elite, although they know the competition is very hard. A long-term goal is obviously the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Voss 2013 and Sochi 2014.

While Lie Andersen and  Slåtten are approaching the very best, there are many young girls in Kari Traa Skilag that really has taken major steps. For Emilie Noel Amundsen and Hedvig Wessel, only small items are remaining before they are quite "up there", according to the coach. "The girls are super motivated. The future looks very good. In winter, the goal is that several of the girls qualify for the final spots in the World Cup", Kantermo says.
Before the World Cup begins in Ruka 10 December, the athletes will train on snow. The plan is to have four days of training a week in advance.

The following made it to the team:
Tevje Lie Andersen, Voss Freestyleklubb
Knut Lemme, Voss Freestyleklubb

Vinjar Slåtten, Voss Freestyleklubb
Hedvig Wessel, IL Heming
