Marco Schwarz and Matteo de Vettori are Junior World Champions in the events of super-G and super combined winning the first medal competitions on 26th February 2014.

Until 3rd March 2014, the 32nd edition of the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships is showcasing the world junior elite of ski racing in the ski resort of Jasná Nízke Tatry (SVK). Organised by the Slovak Ski Association, the ten-day event will see 361 youngsters from 48 nations compete in slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill, super combined and the parallel team event.

On 25th February, one day prior to the first medal events, the Opening Ceremony featured a nations’ parade and the official hoisting of the FIS and Slovakian flags. Chair of the event and President of the Slovak Ski Association Jana Gantnerova warmly welcomed the delegations and invited them to enjoy their Championships. Beside speeches by public authorities, the event Ambassador and FIS Athletes' Commission member Veronika Velez-Zuzulova, and the FIS Council Member from the Czech Republic Roman Kumpost who officially opened the Championships, the evening continued with entertaining music by a Slovakian Punk Band.
