FIS Development Programme Alpine Training Camp in Stubaital and Hintertux
A total of 23 young athletes from 14 countries recently participated in a 30-day training camp at the Stubai and Hintertux glaciers in Tirol (AUT). Starting on 27th October 2013, the weather conditions provided favourable training this year.
Meanwhile, a second session is now underway and will conclude on 21st December.
Under the framework of the FIS Development Programme, the training camp in Austria is conducted on a yearly basis, carrying a social component by uniting young athletes from developing National Ski Associations for an entire month. While the morning sessions contained on-snow training, the afternoons featured dry land sessions in the gym or outside.
The following nations participated in the first camp: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Denmark, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Pakistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan
