FIS represented at International Federations Forum in Lausanne
The annual International Federation Forum took place from the 4th – 6th November 2013 in Lausanne with representatives from more than 100 International Sports Federations as well as the IOC taking part.
The forum is a chance for the international federation family to come together to address the issues that concern international sports, share experiences and best practice as well as strengthen relationships. This year, the forum had two primary themes: Event Management and Social Media.
Throughout the three days, participants attended and engaged in presentations and conversations regarding the two very relevant themes.
FIS was well represented at the annual forum with FIS Alpine Media Coordinator Ana Jelusic taking part in a round table discussion titled ‘The Social Media Monster.’ In addition, Bruno Felicetti, Communications Director of the Nordic Ski World Championships in Val di Fiemme 2013, gave a presentation titled ‘Social Media at Events’ as one of four experts tabbed to present at a Breakout Session.
“This year’s Forum featured extremely relevant and timely themes,” said FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis, who is also a member of the IF Forum Steering Committee. “Social Media continues to be a topic of great interest in the sporting world and Event Management is always a theme that can be discussed to help IFs improve knowledge in this important area.”
