FIS Rollerski World Cup 2014 underway

Last weekend saw the start of the FIS Rollerski World Cup 2014 in Oroslavje (CRO). This summer’s FIS Rollerski World Cup features nine competitions across the three venues of Oroslavje (CRO), Sollefteå (SWE) and Val di Fiemme (ITA).

The FIS Rollerski World Cup opener in Oroslavje included uphill, individual start and sprint competitions.

Marcus Johansson of Sweden won the 7km-long uphill competition, as Italy's Simone Paredi narrowly took second in a photo finish.

Double victory in the ladies' category went to Russia as Ksenia Konokhova topped the podium ahead of teammate Anna Grushina. Konohova carried on the winning momentum by taking victory in the 10 km race. Italy’s Richard Tiraboschi was the quickest in the men’s category.

The FIS Rollerski World Cup weekend in Oroslavje concluded with a sprint free. Viktor Karasev was the winner while in the ladies category Anastazia Voronina (both RUS) skated to victory.

The FIS Rollerski World Cup continues from 25th – 17th July 2014 in Sollefteå (SWE).
