General Assembly of Brazilian Snow Sports Federation

The Brazilian Snow Sports Federation recently held its General Assembly in Sao Paulo (BRA). On the agenda was the election of the President which saw Stefano Arnhold reaffirmed in his role to head the Federation for another four-year term. He joined the organisation in 1997 to support the founder and former President Mr Domingos Giobbi who passed away in September 2013. Arnhold will be serving his fourth term with plans to boost the presence of Brazil in the world of snow sports.

The gathering also included various reports on the past season. Financial statements reported a 550% growth of revenues in the last five years amounting to USD 1.4 million. Plans were presented to double this figure by the end of 2015.

From a promotional perspective, Brazilian TV broadcast an approximate duration of 400 hours of snow sports including 56 FIS World Cup events in the 2013/14 season. According to statistics this transmission reached an accumulated audience of nearly 1.1 billion people.
