As ski resorts in Australia are reporting that the huge snowfalls in July have led to some of the best skiing conditions in over 25 years, athletes from all over the world are descending on Australian resorts as the 2014 Australian Continental Cup series of events begins this week.

Athletes from 35 nations will compete in the Suzuki National Snowsports Series with seven events over 16 days.

The series is the highest level of snowsports competition in the Southern hemisphere. It is held across the five major ski resorts in New South Wales and Victoria with over 1,500 competitors taking part.

The exciting programme covers the disciplines of Ski and Snowboard Cross, Alpine Skiing, Moguls, and Cross-Country. For many of the Australian National Team athletes, this is their first competition since the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi (RUS).
