Livingston and Nicoll crowned Canadian Champion at the first Snowcrown

The Canadian Halfpipe Championships took place a few days ago at Canada Olympic Park, AB, presented by the Snowcrown – The Canadian Freestyle Championships and 365 Sports. The event is sanction by Canada~Snowboard.

Veteran and two-time Olympian, Mercedes Nicoll from Whistler, BC, was victorious throwing down the most technical run of the evening for a score of 86.5, good enough for the gold medal and her fourth National Championship title. Katie Tsuyuki from Squamish, BC, finished in second with a 73.5, followed by National Team rider, Calynn Irwin from Toronto, ON, in third with 69.75.

In the men’s event, Shreducation’s Derek Livingston from Aurora, ON, won his first Canadian Championship title with a score of 93.25. Matt Wallace from Calgary, AB, came second with an 86.75 and Crispin Lipscomb from Ottawa, ON, made his return to competition with a score of 81.00 to claim third place.
