In Sao Roque, a city located 50km from Sao Paulo, Brazil, a Ski and Snowboard Freestyle Training Centre was recently opened.

South American skiers and riders will now be able to train year-round, enjoying a 440m2 high tech inflatable and three in-runs. The center also features acrobatic trampolines for the development of tricks.

Stefano Arnhold, President of the Brazilian Snow Sports Federation explained: "As we are approaching the FIFA World Cup, the centre was inaugurated with an Argentina vs. Brazil challenge where athletes from ski and snowboard slopestyle were joined by aerials, skate and wakeboard. In a head-to-head challenge each discipline counted one point to the winning nation. Opponents in football, but friends on snow, the final score was a 3- 3 draw."

Earlier this season, an indoor snow centre already opened its doors in Gramado located in the Serra Gaucha region. The Brazilian centre has become one of two now operating in the southern hemisphere. The third is snow planet in New Zealand.
