Good news for Ski Jumping in Switzerland. St. Moritz will be building a new jumping hill. In a recent referendum, 55% of the electorate accepted the initiative giving a boost for Ski Jumping in the traditional winter sports resort in the Engadin valley.

The former Olympic hill in St. Moritz, which was closed for safety reasons in 2006, will be replaced by a HS 109 normal hill in addition to three smaller hills. Construction is expected to be completed by the 2015/16 season.

After completion of the project, which will amount to CHF 11.5 million, the Organisers are hoping to attract future international competitions. The new Ski Jumping complex is also expected to serve as a training base for national and international teams.
