Olympic medallists to compete at Blink Festival 2014

The starting field of this year’s Blink Festival 2014, a popular three-day Rollerski race, is packed with big names from Cross-Country Skiing. There will be 27 medallists from the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, including some from Biathlon, at the biggest summer ski festival, which takes place in Sandnes and Lysebotn (NOR) next week, from 31st July - 2nd August.

In addition to Norwegian top athletes Marit Bjørgen, Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, Petter Northug, Ingvild Flugstad Østberg, Martin Johnsrud Sundby or Ola Vigen Hattestad there will be athletes from 13 countries taking part. The international starting field is represented by Emil Joensson, the Fourcade brothers, Aino Kaisa Saarinen and Kerttu Niskanen, to name a few.

The famous Rollerski competition ‘Lysebotn Up’ on Thursday will feature almost 630 skiers. The competition programme continues on Friday, 1st August with ladies 10 km and men’s 15 km competition. The Blink Festival 2014 will come to an end on Saturday, 2nd August with a sprint.

In total, there will be 900 participants in the Blink Festival 2014 and some 2000 kids are going to try roller skiing at the kids camp in Sandnes.
