Stoch Sports Personality of the Year in Poland

For the second time after 2014, ski jumping hero Kamil Stoch won the Sports Personality of the Year Award in Poland last weekend. Stoch was chosen over Polish football captain and Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski and hammer throw World Champion Anita Wlodarczyk, who were in second and third places.

The Polish Sports Personality of the Year is chosen by the readers of the newspaper Przegląd Sportowy.

Fresh off his 11th consecutive victory at the FIS World Cup in Calgary (CAN), the world’s most dominant moguls skier Mikael Kingsbury (CAN) offered his predictions on the skiers who will be the biggest threat to him as he goes for his first Olympic gold medal in PyeongChang 2018.

 

Hirscher on ballot for Academy’s Athlete of the Year Award

His outstanding accomplishments have earned Austrian ski star Marcel Hirscher a spot on the United States Sports Academy’s 2017 Athlete of the Year award ballot. The ballot, now available for online voting, is the culmination of the Academy’s year-long selection process through which outstanding accomplishments of men and ladies in sports from around the globe are recognised.

Everyone is encouraged to cast a vote on the Academy’s website at www.ussa.edu until 17th January 2018. The ballot includes 12 men and 12 ladies from 12 countries.

Four-Hills to be marketed by Infront Sports & Media for another four years

The 66th edition of the Four-Hills Tournament ended on Saturday with record ratings. The successful conclusion of the event also rang in good news for Infront's Ski Jumping marketing activities.

The Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have extended their contract with Infront Sports & Media for the Four-Hills Tournament by another four years until the 2021/22 season. The cooperation began in 2010/11.
