Maria Ramberger and Markus Schairer have clinched the national snowboard cross title in Saalbach-Hinterglemm last Saturday. It was the third one for both of them.

While Ramberger led a Lower Austria podium sweep on the women's side relegating twin sisters Katharina and Kristina Neussner to second and third, Schairer was accompanied by his team mates Michael Hammerle and Hanno Douschan.

According to another title to his belt, Schairer said: “It's always nice to win a national championship title. The course was in a perfect condition.”

However, the Europa Cup race, which also counted as national championship race, was won by Canada's Robert Fagan ahead of the 2009 World Champion, Michael Haemmerle (AUT) and David Speiser (GER).

On the women's side, Lorelei Schmitt (Frau) claimed victory ahead of Simona Meiler (SUI) and Michaela Moioli (ITA).

Hanno Douschan (AUT) rounded out the championship podium as third rider by placing fifth in the race.
