Six cities bid to host 2022 Olympic Winter Games

On the deadline of midnight on 14th November 2013, six cities applied to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Listed in alphabetical order the cities are: Almaty (KAZ), Beijing (CHN), Krakow (POL), Lviv (UKR), Oslo (NOR), and Stockholm (SWE).

National Olympic Committees submitted applications to the IOC that complied with prerequisite criteria established by the IOC Executive Board in 2010. Having fulfilled these requirements, the six Applicant Cities now enter Phase 1 of a two-phase technical analysis that culminates in the election of the 2022 host city by the 127th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 31st July 2015.
