Sochi 2014: Gorki Media Centre opens its doors for media and broadcasters
In the Sochi 2014 Mountain Cluster where all the FIS discipline venues are located, the Gorki Media Centre officially opened on 24th January 2014. Located at an altitude of 540 m above sea level, the Media Centre is set to receive around 4,000 television and radio broadcasters and 500 media representatives from around the world at the peak of Games time. The Gorki Media Centre with a total area of more than 30,000 square metres includes the Mountain Broadcasting Centre and Gorki Press Centre.
The Media Centre also serves as a transport hub for representatives of the press, television and radio broadcasters in the Mountain Cluster, from where buses will take reporters to all sports venues in the mountains, to the Olympic Park and Main Media Centre in Sochi, and also to media hotels.
Meanwhile, in the city of Sochi, the first press conference was held at the Main Media Centre on 29th January which opened its doors on 7th January, exactly one month before the start of the Games.
