Stangeland and Versteeg crowned Canadian Slopestyle Champions

The Canadian Slopestyle Championships took place last weekend Canada Olympic Park, AB, presented by the Snowcrown – The Canadian Freestyle Championships and 365 Sports. The event is sanction by Canada~Snowboard.

Jon Versteeg from Vernon, BC, had the best run of the day scoring 81.70 to put him on top of the podium and earn the title Canadian Slopestyle Champion. Darcy Sharpe from Comox, BC, was a close second with a score of 80.50, followed by Matts Kulisek from Sainte-Adèle, QC, in third with a score of 80.3.

On the women’s side, Breanna Stangeland from Calgary, AB, was the strongest rider scoring an 83.20 to earn the Snowcrown and the Canadian Slopestyle title. Brooke Voigt from Fort McMurray, AB, came in second with a score of 75.40. Samm Denena an up-and-comer from Orillia, ON, placed third with a score of 69.00.

The Canadian Junior Slopestyle Championship will be contested by the best 19 and under riders at Canada Olympic Park tomorrow as the Snowcrown wraps up its final day.
