For the 2014 Southern Hemisphere winter season, FIS SnowKidz is proud to introduce its newest Organiser, Temple Basin (NZE).

Located on the south island of New Zealand, Temple Basin is a high Alpine ski field. Visitors can find children and adults making their very first ski turns, to big mountain legends climbing and conquering huge ski lines. The resort operates completely on natural snow. On a 40 minute hike from the car park to the lodge, visitors learn about the natural environment and eco systems found in the region.

For the 2014 season, Temple Basin will stage two FIS SnowKidz events. The entire season, children under the age of 10 ski free. On 16th – 17th August 2014, Temple Basin will host a special children’s weekend. Children from local schools and sports clubs will be invited to the mountain where they will be provided free ski lessons, free mountain environment classes and snow crafts. Also the offer of free lift passes will be extended to children up to the age of 14 as long as they register for the event. The event is sure to be a great time for children and families and FIS encourages everyone in New Zealand to take part.
