The race for the Parallel World Cup title has picked up pace. All riders, who are still within reach of the 2012 Crystal Globe, have survived the time trials for today's PGS in La Molina.

In addition, none of the favorites will face another one in the first round of the top 16.

On the women's side, World Cup leader Patrizia Kummer (SUI) will battle with Eri Yanetani (JPN), while currently second ranked Julia Dujmovits (AUT), the top qualifier, will meet Anke Karstens (GER) in the eighth final.

In addition, #3 in the world Marion Kreiner (AUT) will ride against Marianne Leeson (CAN), Amelie Kober (GER) against Caroline Calve (CAN) and Ekaterina Tudegesheva (RUS) against Isabella Laboeck (GER).

On the men's side, the two main actors of the season and thus top contenders for the World Cup title will meet in the quarter finals.

However, to be able to fight for a preliminary decision, World Cup leader Roland Fischnaller (ITA) has to beat Andreas Lausegger (AUT) and Andreas Prommegger (AUT) has to cross the finish line ahead of Justin Reiter (USA).
