Australia’s aerials super star and FIS Athletes’ Commission member Lydia Lassila embodies all that is sports. The former gymnast has achieved incredible success in aerials skiing by clinching a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games in addition to two World Cup victories and her recent second place at the historic aerials World Cup at Beijing’s Birds Nest.

In October 2010, Lassila was awarded by the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame the prestigious Don award, recognising her ability to inspire as well as her sporting achievements during 2010, including her Olympic performance.

Next to her sporting career, the 31-year-old is mother of a little son. Her positive attitude, fun personality and fearless attitude motivates children from all over the world to be active.
