Adam Cieslar claims Polish summer champion title
After he had to sit out due to an injury last summer, Polish team leader Adam Cieslar has claimed the title of the Polish summer champion on the large hill in Wisla today. In the end, it was 30.9 second that separated winner Cieslar from runner-up Kacper Kupczak who shone on the jumping hill and had claimed the intermediate lead with a jump of 127.5 metres on Wisla’s HS 134 hill.
Cieslar shared the intermediate second rank with team youngster Michal Gut-Chowaniec as both landed at 117.5 metres. The had to make up one minute and 16 seconds on the younger Kupczak brother. Title defender Pawel Slowiok had a weaker jump of only 107.5 metres and had to start two minutes and 34 seconds after the leader.
In the race, Slowiok set the fastest time with 22:26.5 for the 10 kilometres but was not able to make it to the podium. He finished on rank four, beaten by Szczepan Kupczak by about 7 seconds. The older Kupczak brother overtook Michal Gut-Chowaniec on his way to the medal ranks but was in no way able to endanger his younger brother Kacper who won his first national medal with his second rank.
