Antoine Gerard on top in Les Rousses
After Maxime Laheurte was successful in a first event of the Frenche Samse Summer Tour in Autrans at the beginning of the month, it was youngster Antoine Gerard who took the victory in Les Rousses on the past weekend.
The 21-year-old won with a margin of +00:02.23 on second placed Maxime Laheurte. Francois Braud crossed the finish line as number three, +00:05.47. Antoine had already claimed the victory in the ski jumping part and had a 19-second time advantage on Laheurte which he managed to keep until the finish. The fastest roller-skier was Hugo Buffard who needed 21:48.00 for the 10 kilometres at Les Tuffes. He finished on position five, improving five ranks in the race.
Coach Jerome Laheurte was very satisfied with his winner and picked his five athletes for the Summer Grand Prix after this competition. "Antoine skied a very thoughtful race. It was very interesting to see him in the leading position. Also Laurent Muhlethaler managed to stick to Francois Braud and Maxime Laheurte for three quarters of the race and finally, Hugo Buffard, though still struggling on the hill, showed an impressive race again", he is quoted in Nordic Magazine.
In the U-17 category, the win went to Edgar Vallet ahead of Mael Tyrode and Nils Gouy.
