Saturday’s jumping event on Oberstdorf’s HS 95 jumping hill had Dünkel starting from the fourth position in the race, having to make up 42 seconds on jumping winner Simon Hüttel who showed 100.5 metres. Hüttel proceeded to take the win in the Junior 17 category as he crossed the finish line 28.9 seconds ahead of local heroes Julian Schmid and 34.8 second ahead of Wendelin Thannheimer.
In the senior category, however, it was Dünkel who secured his first victory with the fastest cross-country time of 20:53.2 for the 10 kilometres which put him a comfortable 28.2 seconds ahead of Hanf at the finish line. 40.8 seconds later, Tom Lubitz finished to take the third place. The J16 juniors had Christian Frank as the winner, 2.7 seconds ahead of Lenard Kersting and with 55.6 seconds on Finn Stütz.
