Riiber beats Krog on second day of Norges Cup
One day after his second place in the Oslo Ski Show, Jarl Riiber came back with a vengeance to win the second Nordic Combined competition of the weekend. He took the victory in his home venue of Holmenkollen ahead of his older brother Harald with a time advantage of 46 seconds on the finish line. Yesterday’s winner Magnus Krog made it another podium with rank three, finishing one minute and five seconds after Riiber junior.
Jarl Riiber returned to his dominant role on Midtstubakken with a jump of 98 metres which put him 8.5 points ahead of his brother Harald who landed at 94.5 metres. Magnus Krog had another great day on the hill, claiming the intermediate third position with 91 metres, starting one minute and two seconds behind Riiber in the race.
This time, Jarl Riiber did not let any of his pursuers come any closer to him in the 10 kilometre running race known as the "Sognsvanntest" and was never in any danger of giving away his victory. Behind Krog, position four went to Jan Schmid who improved from position six, Mikko Kokslien finished fifth and Espen Bjørnstad sixth.
