Germany’s Tobias Simon got to spend a lot of time in the leader board until his teammate and local hero Eric Frenzel finally took the win as the last starter of the round. Simon had shown 92.5 metres as the third jumper and his 116.1 points were not topped until Frenzel landed at 95.5 metres. His 121.9 points would put him 23 seconds ahead of Simon should the PCR have to be used in case of adverse weather conditions.

Rank three went to Austria’s Mario Seidl who jumped 92 metres (115.2 points, +0:27). The rest of the top ten spots went to Yoshito Watabe, Maxime Laheurte, Terence Weber, Franz-Josef Rehrl, Jan Schmid and Francois Braud. Per the new Summer Grand Prix rules this was a Provisional Competition Round only and no qualification, so all athletes will be able to start in the Team Sprint and Individual Gundersen competitions on the weekend.
