Gasper Berlot takes Slovenian nationals

In the absence of Slovenian shooting star Marjan Jelenko, teammate Gasper Berlot has clinched the title of national champion in the competition held in Planica last weekend.

Berlot crossed the finish line 28 seconds ahead of runner-up Matic Placnik. Young Urh Krajncan completed the podium with rank three, 57 seconds behind Berlot. After the ski jumping part, Anze Lanisek had been in the lead with a distance of 149 metres on Planica's Bloudek Giant HS 139 hill. Cene Prevc ranked second with 148 metres. Berlot held a sixth place at the intermediate point and with 120 metres, this meant a time behind of over three minutes on Lanisek.

In the race, Berlot skied the fastest time together with Matic Plaznik. Both needed 30:42.0 on the track in contrast to the leading ski jumping specialists who did not stand a chance with a skiing time of 44:45.0 and 49.45.0 for Prevc and Lanisek respectively.

Result list

In the junior ranking, Urh Krajncan took the first place on the podium, followed by Borut Mavc and Luka Oblak.
