The German Ski Federation has announced the following team for the World Cup opener in Ruka:

- Manuel Faißt
- Eric Frenzel
- Vinzenz Geiger
- Björn Kircheisen
- Jakob Lange
- Fabian Rießle
- Johannes Rydzek
- Terence Weber

Head coach Hermann Weinbuch is happy with the preparation of his team so far: „We have changed a couple of things compared to the previous year. Nothing substantial but small changes that should show some effects. As we have no title event this year, we reduced the training volumes of the more experienced athletes a but to keep some reserves for World Championships and Olympic Games. All other athletes have extended their workloads as planned. We have five great preparation days in good conditions in Rovaniemi and were also lucky in Ruka windwise so far. Now we have to wait that the competition is doing. We are especially watching for Team Norway, Jarl Riiber is jumping exceptionally well, this is going to be very interesting.“

Concerning his own athletes, Weinbuch is very positive: „We are all healthy and I’m confident we’ll have three athletes among the top: Johannes Rydzek, Eric Frenzel and Fabian Rießle will have the ambition to go for the podiums and also have a word about the overall World Cup. Terence Weber and Vinzenz Geiger were added to the World Cup team as juniors and are here to have experiences and train towards the World Cup on a long-term basis.“
