As expected beforehand, the Swiss and French team leaders Tim Hug and Jason Lamy Chappuis took the respective wins in the joint Swiss and French national summer championships taking place at Chaux-Neuve this weekend.

The first international competition on the new summer jump facility on the big hill in Chaux-Neuve didn't go as smoothly as planned, though. Due to strong wind and rain, the jumping part could not take place on Saturday which forced the organisers to start the roller-skiing competition in nearby Vallée de Joux as a mass start.

On the four times 2,5 kilometres, the field stayed closely together for most of the time with no skier really wanting to take the lead or managing to break away. After unsuccessful attacks by Geoffrey Lafarge, Samuel Guy and Hugo Buffard it finally was no other than Jason Lamy Chappuis who took the lead in the fourth lap and managed to win the roller-skiing part with a 1,2 second lead on Hugo Buffard. Samuel Guy claimed rank three (+1,6 sec). Tim Hug was the first of the Swiss skiers to cross the finish line (+2,7) as fifth.

On Sunday morning, the ski jumping part could finally take place on the HS 118 hill in Chaux-Neuve and Maxime Laheurte was able to make up a lot of ground with a total of 111,2 points for his jump. He improves his intermediate seventh place into a final second position. Jason Lamy Chappuis won with a total of 230,3 points ahead of Laheurte (227,9) and Nicolas Martin (224,2 p.). Tim Hug was the best Swiss athlete with 220 points, winning his respective championship ahead of Jan Kirchhofer (192,2 p.) and Christian Erichsen (177,4 p.).
