Last weekend has been a successful one for Polish newcomer Kristian Gryczuk. The 18-year-old who competes for the Czech ski club LSK Lomnice nad Popelkou triumphed at the Czech summer championships which were held on the HS134 hill in Liberec and on a 10 km roller-ski track last weekend. He won in the senior as well as in the junior class. He shared the senior podium with Miroslav Dvorak and Ales Vodsedalek and the junior one with Tomas Vancura and Martin Zeman.

After the ski jumping portion, Miroslav Dvorak was in the lead with a jump of 134 metres which meant a three-second advance on Tomas Slavik. Winner-to-be Gryczuk followed 18 seconds behind the leader Dvorak on rank three. With a time of 24:31.2, Gryczuk showed a strong cross-country performance, gaining an advantage of over one minute on Dvorak.

The competition, which was held as an open Czech championship, also included seven other starters from Poland. The best one, Damian Urbas, came in third in the overall result.
