With Paul Hanf (17) and Tom Lubitz (18), two aspiring Nordic Combined athletes of the Viessmann Junior Team are training with a single goal: the Junior World Championships in Val di Fiemme in January 2014. Viessmann Sports caught up with the DSV youngsters.

After having received new clothes at the traditional DSV summer clothing in Bad Endorf in May, how does your daily routine look like at the beginning of summer now?

Tom Lubitz: We have started our training again and there will be quite many camps coming up. Right now, we're on out bikes a lot, do a lot of jogging and power sessions at the gym. At the beginning of June, we'll also finally return to the hills! (Editor's note: The traditional German "Summer Opening" will take place at Bischofsgrün on Sunday, 23th of June)

Paul Hanf: I actually have to pair my training with school at the moment. Luckily, that is working quite well because I can split my final year in two.

What are your plans for the summer now, regarding international competitions?

Tom Lubitz: We will be starting at the Alpencup in Winterberg and Oberwiesenthal. It's great to collect experience and offers some comparison so other nations

Paul Hanf: The summer competitions are comparable to the winter competitions but what will always count ultimately are the results of the winter season.

Talking of winter: what are you're goals for the upcoming season?

Tom Lubitz: Definitely taking part in the Junior World Championships in Val di Fiemme.

Paul Hanf: Yes, that's also my big goal. I was sick at the last Junior World Championships and not able to start. I definitely want to have that experience this winter.
