Haavard Klemetsen has won the Provisional Competition Round in Villach today. The Norwegian set a jump of 93,5 metres which gave him 126,6 points. Austria's Christoph Bieler once again confirmed his good jumping shape and claimed rank two (95,5 m; 125,4 p.) which would mean a 5 second time disadvantage on Klemetsen should the PCR have to be used in case of difficult weather conditions tomorrow.

Evgeniy Klimov from Russia came in on another third rank and is slowly beginning to set himself up as one of Nordic Combined's jumping experts. He achieved 94,5 metres which meant 122,6 points and 16 seconds of time behind on the roller ski track.

Ranks four and a joint rank five went to Björn Kircheisen (+0:18), Janne Ryynänen (+0:20) and Taihei Kato (+0:20). Oberwiesenthal's winner Akito Watabe ranked ninth with a time disadvantage of 35 seconds. Overall World Cup winner Eric Frenzel did not really get comfortable with Villach's hill and placed 30th with a time behind of +1:28.

As the competitions in Villach and Oberstdorf are used as test for the Weekend Challenge. Today's PCR will actually not be a qualification at the same time. All athletes are permitted to start in tomorrow's competition.

The trial round will start at 15:45, the ski jumping competition round is on at 17:00. The roller ski race on the new roller ski course in the Alpenarena follows at 19:00.
