Szczepan Kupczak, Pawel Slowiok and Adam Cieslar (POL) won the Nordic Combined's Team Gundersen (HS106 / 3x5 km FT) at the 26th Winter Universiade Trentino 2013. The Polish team was second behind Japan after the Ski Jumping competition but then took the lead in the Cross-Country race and crossed the finish line in first position in 38:41.6. Slovenia (Borut Mavc, Joze Kamenik, Matic Plaznik) grabbed the silver medal (+7.8) and Japan (Go Yamamoto, Shota Horigome, Aguri Shimizu) bronze (+12.4).

With three great jumps of 99.5, 97 and 99 metres, the Japanese team went out on the cross-country track first, their accumulated score of 379,5 metres giving them a 5-second-lead on the pursuing team from Poland. Kupczak and Germany's Tobias Simon shared the honour of the longest jumps of the competition with 100 metres each.

The German team had claimed an intermediate third rank after the three jumps, but in the cross-country race, the strong skiers of the Slovenian team caught up with Germany and Japan and with the second-fastest time on the track Mavc, Kamenik and Plaznik secured their silver medal 7.8 seconds after the strong Polish team which has dominated the Universiade with two golds and one silver medal and one bronze in Nordic Combined.

The intermediate leaders from Japan had to defend their podium place against the fast team from Norway (Waaler, Andersen, Vilhelmsen) which skied the fastest time with 37:53.7 and almost managed to catch up with Japan in the end and finished only 0.7 seconds later.
