Adam Cieslar and Pawel Slowiok have taken the Polish national titles of the normal and the large hill 2016 in Szczyrk on the past weekend. While Cieslar defended his title from last year on the normal hill, Slowiok emerged victorious after a tight battle in the large hill competition.

Michal Gut-Chowaniec headed the ski jumping result lists on Friday with a jump of 105.5 metres which put the youngster in the pole position for the race. But only four seconds separated him from team leader Adam Cieslar who was therefore well on the way to defend last year’s title on the flat course in Szczyrk. Junior Pawel Twardosz held the third position with 100 metres which meant a 48-second deficit on the leader. Pawel Slowiok, who is known to be a rather faster skier tried to catch up with Cieslar but in the end, the easy course did not give him a lot of leverage. 19.2 seconds separated Cieslar and Slowiok in the finish line with Twardosz battling his way to the remaining podium spot, one minute and 34 seconds behind the winner. Jumping winner Gut-Chowaniec had to be satisfied with the fourth position.
