With the season end, the French team is losing another of their athletes: similar to his teammate Geoffrey Lafarge, also Samuel Guy has announced his retirement from high performance sports.

„You have not seen me since the World Cup in Chaux-Neuve and I decided that this unforgettable weekend will be the last one of my career. During my eight years on the French team, I have experienced extraordinary moments. I had the chance to wear the colours of my country, to develop physically and mentally, to realise a part of my big dream and to meet people for which I cannot be thankful enough“, Guy writes on his Facebook page.

„High performance sports are unforgiving and I’ve tried everything and given my best to perform successfully. I have arrived at the limit of my abilities and I no longer have the mental and physical strength to keep fighting in my discipline. My Olympic dream ends without being fulfilled but I am still proud of my background the values I tried to convey through my discipline. It’s time to move on now. Thank you to all who have directly or indirectly supported me during my career.“
