Season over for Tomaz Druml
Bad news for Austrian athlete Tomaz Druml: After a medical examimation, the 28-year-old was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia which will not allow him to show performances on an elite level. He will now have to take a no-sports break of several months to allow this condition to normalise again. The overall Continental Cup winner of 2014 plans to return to competing in the season 2016/17.
Druml: „This diagnosis has been very bitter but there’s nothing to be done for it. Now I have to rest whether I like it or not and see to that it is normalising again. I am optimistic that I can get this medical issue solved until the next season. I’ll close the chapter of high performance sports for now and will be focussing on my studies and my hobbies.“
