After some further examinations were conducted back home in Austria, Sepp Schneider had to face more bad news. The injury to his knee proved to be worse than initially thought. Schneider had crashed badly during jumping training in Lillehammer and suffered a severe concussion. He also complained about pain in his shoulder and right knee.

After he was transported to Austria last week and a thorough examination in the Olympic training center in Dornbirn and the hospital in Bregenz and Schneider was diagnosed with a rupture of the cruciate ligament in the right knee.

„After a thorough MRT examination in Bregenz, it became clear that Sepp Schneider suffered an ACL tear in his right knee that was already operated on for the same injury last year. We will now have to wait until the hematoma and irritation in the knee have gone down, so that we can have surgery on the cruciate ligament. This will probably be the case in about 4 weeks. More details about the recovery process can only be given afterwards“, ÖSV doctor Dr. Jürgen Barthofer explained.
