Polish Champion 2011 in nordic combined is Pawel Slowiok of the skiclub Wisla Ustronianka. The competition started with a rollerski race with an intervall start. The race was won by Slowiok, 23 seconds ahead of Adam Cieslar; Tomasz Pochwala was third.
A day later, the very exciting ski jumping competition was held on the HS 134 in Zakopane. There was only a difference of 4.4 points between the first and the fifth - but Slowiok, who was second, could not be defeated in the overall ranking. The jumping portion was won by Tomasz Pochwala with 119.5 m, who came in third overall behind Cieslar.
Also the two German athletes Ruben Welde (second) and Alex Poehland (ninth) took part in the Polish championships. Here are the results!
Early October the Polish team trained in Seefeld, where also the Japanese and French were at that time. The young athlete Szczepan Kupczak fell in a training jump and fractured his elbow.
