Eric Frenzel returns to winning ways on the World Cup Tour in Trondheim Highlights

The German claims his 43th World Cup win and third of the season after edging overall leader Akito Watabe down the homestretch. Fabian Riessle pips Johannes Rydzek for third place. Watabe now has a 149-point margin over Norway's Jan Schmid.

Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
