COC: First win this winter for Rok Justin
Rok Justin took the win in the first Continental Cup competition this weekend in Vikersund, Norway.
With a jump on 109 m the Slovene was fourth after the first round, 111 m in the final and a total of 263.2 points earned the 22-year-old his already eighth win in the COC, the first this winter.
The second and third place went to the hosting team. Tom Hilde posted jumps on 110.5 m and 111.5 m, scored 262.8 points and finished second, 0.9 points ahead of his teammate Halvor Egner Granerud, who jumped on 107 m and 113.5 m.
Tomas Vancura of the Czech Republic, third after the first round, came in on a very good fourth place. Tobias Birchler was fifth and achieved the by far best result of his career. The 18-year-old Swiss was even in the lead ahead of Tom Hilde after the first half of the competition.
Best Austrian was Thomas Hofer in sixth, followed by Norway's Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng.
Germany's Marinus Kraus, 2014 team Olympic champion, finished eighth and achieved his first Top 10 result in this COC season. Markus Schiffner of Austria (9th) and Slovenia's Bor Pavlovcic (10th) also came in among the best 10 in this competition.
Clemens Aigner of Austria, 14th on Friday, still leads the overall ranking with his total of 725 points, followed by Tom Hilde (638 points) and Karl Geiger (574 points).
