Despite the difficult weather conditions with not much snowfall and relatively mild temperatures the organizers were able to prepare the Kulm ski flying hill.

After the FIS snow control on Friday, the organizing committee now got the green light for the two competitions in Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf on January 11th and 12th.

"Without the spontaneous help of the community of St. Nikolai im Soelktal, about 50 km away, and the support of Tauplitz (snow cannon) it would not have been possible to have enough snow on the hill", the organizers explained in a media release.

Because temperatures of above zero are also forecasted for the upcoming days, the nights will still be used to produce more artificial snow, but the hill shall be completely prepared soon. So nothing shall stand in the way of the first ski flying weekend this season.
