Jarkko Maeaettae wins Finnish Nationals

At the Finnish national Championships on the large hill in Ruka on Saturday, the title went to Jarkko Maeaettae.

With 127 m and 142 m the 20-year-old from Kajaani showed the best jumps in both rounds and took a clear win with 304.0 points.

Lauri Asikainen was only seventh after the first round with 112 m, with his second jump on 135 m he could move up to second, but with 260.4 points he came in more than 40 points behind the winner of this competition.

Also Janne Ahonen was able to significantly improve his result in the final. After only 109 m and the 11th place in the first round, the five-time 4-Hills-Tournament winner jumped on 133.5 m in the final round and finished third.

After the first round Antti Aalto and Anselmi Ilola were on target for the podium in second and third, but the two young athletes were not able to defend these positions and came in fourth and ninth overall.
