Lukas Hlava wins Czech Nationals

The Czech national championships were held on the normal hill in Liberec on Saturday. The win there went to local hero Lukas Hlava.

With a jump on 103.5 m, the 30-year-old laid the foundation for this success already in the first round. He then took the title with his second jump on 96.5 m and 269.5 points.

Roman Koudelka, with 94.5 m only eighth after the first round, could improve his performance in the final round and came in second overall with 102 m and 262.0 points.

Veteran Jakub Janda and the only 18-year-old Tomas Vancura scored exactly the same number of points in both rounds and shared the third place on the podium with their total of 260.5 points. Janda showed jumps on 97.5 m and 96.5 m, Vancura jumped on 100.5 m and 96 m.

The places five and six went to Viktor Polasek (255.5 points) and Frantisek Holik (245.5 points), who finished second and third in the junior's ranking behind Tomas Vancura.

The ladies' competition was won by Zdena Pesatova with 84.5 m and 85.5 m (202.0 points), ahead of Barbora Blazkova (82 m/90 m; 199.5 points) and Marta Krepelkova (69.5 m/72.5 m; 141.0 points).
