Mika Kojonkoski new chairman of the Ski Jumping Committee
In a meeting of the FIS Council in conjunction with the Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail (USA) a new chairman of the FIS Ski Jumping Committee was appointed.
Following the passing of chairman Jouko Toermaenen early January, the Council has decided to appoint a successor ahead of the upcoming Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun.
Mika Kojonkoski (FIN) was elected ahead of the former Slovenian ski jumper Franci Petek and Bertil Palsrud of Norway.
The 51-year-old former head coach of the national teams of Norway, Finland and Austria is currently working as director of the high performance unit of the Finnish National Olympic Committee.
