According to reports in Czech media, Austrian Richard Schallert is the new head coach of the Czech national team and the successor of David Jiroutek.

Schallert, who was already working in the Czech Republic from 2006 to 2009 and recently coached the Romanian jumpers, shall now lead the team to the next Winter Games in 2018.

"We have agreed on working together for the next Olympic cycle", said Rostislav Jozifek, sporting director of the Czech Ski Association, on rozhlas.cz.

Jiroutek and Zupan to Russia?

After five years as head coach of the Czech team, David Jiroutek could now start a new job abroad soon. He is currently in negotiations with the Russian Ski Association and might coach the Russian team together with Slovene Matjaz Zupan, who was head coach of the French team for the past years, in the future.
