Sara Takanashi the best in training

The ladies will be testing the normal hill for the World Championships next season with two competitions in Falun this weekend. The official training was held Friday afternoon, there was no qualification because only 49 athletes are competing in Sweden.

Once again overall World Cup winner Sara Takanashi showed the best jumps. In the first training round she posted the longest jump with 97 m, followed by Yuki Ito with 94 m and Olympic Champion Carina Vogt with 90 m.

The Japanese was then the best in the second round with 93.5 m, the second place went to her teammate Yuki Ito again with 92.5 m. Julia Kykkaenen of Finland (88 m) and French Coline Mattel (87 m) shared the third place.

The two Japanese were also the best n the third and final training round. Sara Takanashi jumped on 94 m, Yuki Ito on 88 m. The third-best athlete in this round was Jessica Jerome of the USA with 87.5 m. 

The first competition in Falun will take place on Saturday at 3:15 pm CET.
