Schmitt will come to Willingen

Recently there were rumors about whether Martin Schmitt will end his great career at the World Cup in Willingen (GER), now the speculation will pick up steam again.

The German Ski Association (DSV) will hold a press conference in Willingen on Friday, and besides Dr. Franz Steinle, president of the DSV, and head coach Werner Schuster, Martin Schmitt will also be one of the attendants.

"Our club is on friendly terms with Martin for a long time and so it's great he will be our guest in Willingen", said Juergen Hensel, president of the ski club Willingen.  

New judges' tower completed

On time for the two competitions on the upcoming weekend, the construction of the new judges' tower was completed in Willingen. The construction of the tower, in which the rooms for the judges and also for the jury and the distance measuring are located, started in 2013.

In addition to the judges' tower, also additional startgates, a new coaches' stand and a permanently installed floodlight was built at the "Muehlenkopf"-hill. The total costs of the project are amounting to 2.2 million Euro.
