Seto wins qualification in Oberstdorf
Yuka Seto won the qualification for the first competition of the FIS Ski Jumping Ladies in Oberstdorf. The Japanese jumped to 95,0 metres and 117,8 points. She was followed by Nita Englund by one point, who celebrated a second place for the US-team with 94,0 metres. Only 0,1 points behind was Ursa Bogataj with 94,0 metres, finishing third. Elena Runggaldier was satisfied with 93,5 metres and 115,4 points for Italy. Anna Rupprecht was best German jumper again with 92,5 metres and 113,2 points, finishing fifth. The Slovenian team continued the strong team performance from the World Cups in Japan with Eva Logar (112,0 points) and Spela Rogelj (111,6 points) in places six and seven, placing three ladies in the top ten. Irina Avvakumova in ninth place (109,7 points) followed Kaori Iwabuchi (111,4 points), and Taylor Henrich (109,2 points) placed tenth. The Czech Barbora Blazkova jumped to place 13, following Tara Geraghty-Moats and Sofya Tikhonova. Juliane Seyfarth and Evely Insam both jumped to place 14. Overall six German athletes qualified in between the place 16 to 26. The World Champion Carina Vogt, as one of them, finishing 26th.
France’s Julia Clair finished 20th, the Swiss Sabrina Windmüller qualified as 27th, as well as Poland’s Kinga Rajda in place 28.
Sara Takanashi, was the best athlete of the pre-qualified jumpers again. She showed the best jump of today with 102,5 metres. Katharina Althaus satisfied her German fans with 95,0 metres and keeps the hope up for a success in front of the home crowd.
