Svenja Wuerth crashed in training for the ladies' World Cup competition in Chaikovsky, Russia. The German suffered a vertebral injury, that was diagnosed in the hospital in Chaikovsky.

"Svenja is doing well under the circumstances, she shows no signs of paralysis", said head coach Andreas Bauer. "The affected vertebrae was fixed."

The athlete will not be able to compete in the two individual World Cups in Chaikovsky. Physical therapist Juliane Straehle is taking care of Svenja Wuerth and right now her return to Germany is organised, where further medical examinations will be made.
