  • Ledecka's path into professional sports has been paved ever since her birthday. Born in Prague, to mother Zuzana, a figure skater and father Janek, a well-known singer in the Czech Republic, she first picked up ice hockey as a child with her grandfather Jan Klapáč being a former pro and two-time Olympic medallist.

She also enjoys participating in summer sports such as beach volleyball and windsurfing while her hoobies also include guitar and singing.

In 2013 while still being in high school, things picked up pace in snowboarding as Ledecka became the double junior world champion in PSL and PGS.

The season after, her first full on the World Cup tour, wrapped up with a full set of medals placing second and third in Bad Gastein, Austria and first in Rogla, Slovenia.

In addition, Ledecka impressed at her first ever Olympic Winter Games by finishing seventh in the PGS and sixth in the PSL event.

But it was one year later when the world really got notice of the snow sport talent as Ledecka crowned herself PSL world champion in Austria.

Two years later, Ledecka earned another world championships title (PGS) having already become one of the top raceboard ladies one has to beat if aiming for a spot on the podium.

    But that's not everything.

Ledecká has combined her snowboarding career with competing in alpine skiing: she made her debut on the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in February 2016, finishing 24th in her first race, the Kandahar downhill in Garmisch.

She went on to score points in four of her first five World Cup races, competing in the downhill and Super-G disciplines.

She has stated that she hopes to compete in both skiing and snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
