Austria takes it all at Universiade
Racers from Austria win Gold in the parallel giant slalom at the 2013 Winter Universiade.
Monte Bondone has been a superb mountain for the snowboarders from Austria so far. #
A few days ago, Hanno Douschan claimed Gold in the snowboard cross, today, his team mates of the race board team tied up to his good result.
Julia Dujmovits and Sebastian Kislinger clinched the parallel giant slalom and thus deservedly earned the titles.
It was some sort of redemption on for Dujmovits on the 585 metres long slope flagged with 25 gates: “I'm very happy because it didn't went well for me in the previous weeks. But this race proved that I'm able to improve.”
Sabine Schöffmann (AUT) grabbed Silver on the women's side with 2011 champion Selina Jörg of Germany taking Bronze.
On the men's side, Aaron March (ITA) and Tim Mastnak (SLO) rounded out the podium as second and third respectively.
However, it was Kislinger who stood atop the podium: “I didn't expect this win at all. I hope that I can keep that momentum for the next World Cup races. Maybe I can grab my chance for the Olympics.”
